Tunisian Arab exports increased in 1999

Tunisian exports to the Arab states have increased in value during 1999, reaching an estimated $443 million, official statistics published in Tunis Saturday said.
Tunisian exports have grown by 7.53% in comparison with 1998 when they totaled $412 million.
The figures published by the Tunisian National College for statistics said that imports from Arab states increased from an estimated $424 million in 1998 to almost $520 million in 1999, a rise of 22.64%.
Imports from Arab states like Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, have increased during 1999, reaching an estimated $123 million, compared to 1998 which stood at almost $110 million.
On the same note, the figures showed that Tunisian trade exchange with Arab Maghreb states, like Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, scored a deficit of $15 million in 1999.
