Foreign shares in Moroccan textile sector fivefold stronger in 10 years

The number of foreign companies or foreign shares in textile companies in Morocco went up from 80 plants to 400 in a decade.
Totally or partially foreign-owned textile companies in Morocco are currently providing jobs to 54,000 persons. They represent 35% of the turnover and total 35% of Morocco's textile exports.
The sector, operated by over 1,600 plants, stands as Morocco's major processing industry. Textile and garments exports stand for 37% of the kingdom's total exports, totaling $1.6 billion. It employs 200,000 full time workers.
