A draft for establishing Iraqi university for technology sciences
Iraq-Egypt, Education, 3/18/2000
The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education received a formal request from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education to begin studies concerning the establishment of an Iraqi university for technology sciences to compensate for Baghdad's delay in entering this field due to the international sanctions imposed for 10 years.
The new university aims at eliminating computer illiteracy inside Iraq.
The Iraqi government organized the first international fair for computer devices, in which 45 Arab and Asian companies participated.
Baghdad also purchased a large number of computer devices to qualify its secondary schools last year.
