Egyptian ambassador to Khartoum: Egyptian - Sudanese relations are fine

Mohammed Asem, Cairo's new ambassador to Sudan, emphasized the strength of Egyptian - Sudanese relations and said they are currently fine and that there were instructions to open a new page to get over the summer cloud that affected these relations in the last period so that the relations can return to normal to achieve a continuous progress that responds to the two people's ambitions.
Asem said in press statements to the Sudanese mass media that the most important problem currently confronting the two states is restoring stability to Sudan and solving the problem of the south in a way that does not harm Sudan's security.
Asem had been Egypt's ambassador in Kenya since 1998, and he is considered one of the African affairs experts inside the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
