Arab economists hold congress in Morocco

The Union of Arab Economists holds its 13th congress in El-Jadida (80 km south of Casablanca) under the topic "a new strategy for economic complementarity and joint Arab action to face up economic groupings and challenges of 21st century."
The congress to convene March 27 through 30 will assess joint Arab economic action and moves to enable the Arab world take up the challenges of the 21st century.
Arab economists will also review the place and role of Arab economy in the new world economic order, Arab-Arab partnership, the common Arab market, the Arab free-trade area and relations between Arab regional groupings and other groupings.
Economists associations of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates will take part in the congress, in addition to delegates of Arab and Islamic financial institutions.
The Union of Arab Economists which is chaired by Morocco conducts economic studies on the Arab world and seeks to promote the Arab world economic development, establish social equity and promote the Arab economic thought.
The union's latest congress was held in Amman, Jordan, in 1998.
