Ministerial delegation visits Laayoune to probe social issues
Morocco, Politics, 3/16/2000

A ministerial delegation visited the southern Moroccan city of Laayoune on Tuesday and Wednesday to probe the social issues of concern to the inhabitants of Morocco's southern provinces, such as employment and housing.

The delegation launched the first phase of a youth employment operation and surveyed recent measures to address student transport and accommodation at university campuses.

The delegation-- including ministers of economy and finance, Fathallah Oualalou, of the interior, Ahmed Midaoui, of the government's general affairs, Ahmed Lahlimi and of employment and social affairs, Khalid Alioua-- held meetings with elected representatives and representatives of the civil society.

The delegation members have underlined the great interest King Mohammed VI grants to the region development and progress and to the welfare of local inhabitants.
