Algeria denies Israeli allegations on weapons purchasing
Algeria-Israel, Politics, 3/16/2000

The Algerian Foreign Ministry has refuted what was reported on Wednesday by the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot alleging that Algeria has asked for military aid from Israel.

An official source at the Algerian ministry said the news report in the Israeli paper is a mere allegation and it is reported by an Israeli paper which used to publish false and illusive news about Algeria.

The source stated that Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has made a clear-cut statement to the effect that such Algerian- Israeli relations cannot even be imagined unless Israel pulls out of all occupied Arab territories and fulfills the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, SANA reported.
