Egypt-USA, Politics, 3/16/2000

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa has announced that the forthcoming meeting between Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and US President Bill Clinton in Washington will center on several and comprehensive issues concerning Middle East peace and the situation in the region as a whole, the nuclear file and armament in the Middle East region.

In a press statement Moussa made in Cairo on Wednesday he stated that there is an Egyptian- American partnership pertaining to protecting the peace process and the importance of completing this process as soon as possible as a basis for reaching a just and comprehensive peace.

Moussa described the question of nuclear armament as a grave and important issue, because it does not only relate to the current situation, but to the future of the region and its security.
