Egyptian development plan 80 billion LE

Investment of the social and economic development plan in Egypt for the year 2000 - 2001 are 80 billion LE in comparison to 71.6 billion LE in the last year.
Egyptian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ahmed El-Darsh said this plan comes to carry out many projects in the fourth year of the plan for the years (1997 - 2002), and it aims at increasing the local product total and finding 585,000 employment opportunities as well as increasing the growth to 7% in comparison to 5.3% for the year 1996-1997.
He added that the plan focuses on the private sector performing the major role in increasing investment.
