Beirut hosts FAO regional ministerial meeting

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization will be holding this March 20-24 a regional Mideast ministerial conference in Beirut, the FAO announced.
The conference will seek to promote regional policies adapted to agriculture development, says the FAO statement.
Participants, including agriculture ministers and experts, will map out a framework to support the development of agriculture, in view of the changes in international trade and economic environment.
The conference will also examine the management of irrigated areas, rationalization of integrated agriculture and the encouragement external trade and regional cooperation.
