Libyan - Italian joint declaration

The secretary of the Libyan people's committee for foreign contacts and international cooperation (the foreign minister), Abdul Rahman Shalqam, met on Monday evening in Tripoli with Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini and members of the accompanying delegation currently visiting Libya.

During the meeting, stress was laid on revitalizing the joint Libyan-Italian declaration and to start in implementing projects mutually agreed upon as well as the agreement to set a work mechanism for implementation and follow-up.

The Italian minister stressed that his country will exert intensify efforts during the Afro-European summit conference which will be held by the beginning of April in Cairo in order to create real cooperation between the two continents (Europe and Africa) and in serving the joint interests of the two sides.
