Palestinian official denies drafts for settling the refugees in Iraq
Palestine-Iraq, Politics, 3/14/2000

Palestinian Minister of Public Works Azzam Al Ahmad, coordinator of Iraqi - Palestinian relations, denied the rumors concerning drafts to settle 3,500 Palestinian refugees in Iraq.

In answering a message sent by the leadership of the Kurdish parties northern Iraq to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to inquire about rumors of settling the Palestinians in Karkouk, Al Ahmad said there is no connection between decision of the Iraqi revolution leadership council to granting refugees of year 1948 the right to own a car or a house and the repeated rumors about settling them in Iraq.
