Mubarak calls on Egyptian women to revitalize their political role
Egypt, Politics, 3/14/2000

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has called on Egyptian women to join political life and perform their full role on equal footing with men.

He expressed his hope that the elections of the next People's Assembly will witness a turning point in the area of women's involvement in public life.

The Egyptian president was speaking at the inauguration of the first conference of the national conference for women which was established last month through a presidential decree.

Mubarak linked the increase in family's income level and developing women and qualifying them locally, politically and socially to enable women to merge into society and shoulder their responsibilities.
