UAE budget for 2000

The government of the United Arab Emirates on Monday agreed on the federal draft budget for the year 2000. It has a deficit of 2.44 billion dirhams (US $665 million), without a change from the deficit expected in 1999 estimated at 2.48 billion dirhams.
The UAE news agency said that expected expenditures in the budget which should be approved by the seven rulers of the emirates in the UAE are estimated at 23.12 billion dirhams, while the income is estimated at 20.68 billion dirhams.
However, the budget for 1999 expected the expenditures to be 22.91 billion dirhams against an income of 20.42 billion dirhams.
