Djibouti hosts a preparatory conference for Somali reconciliation on April 20

Djiboutian Foreign Minister Ali Abdi Farah has stressed that the Somali peace plan which proposed by Djibouti aims at convening a preparatory meeting for the Somali reconciliation conference on April 20.

Farah said that Djibouti's initiative aims also at strengthening the efforts aiming at achieving reconciliation in Somalia, together with the efforts made by the countries members in the governmental commission for development in East Africa, IGAD.

In this context, the African foreign ministers who backed the initiative urged the leaders of the Somali factions to support the initiative of the president of Djibouti, Ismael Omar Guelleh.

The statement which was released following their meeting in Addis Ababa said the preliminary meeting of the reconciliation conference will be held on April 20 through May 5 in Djibouti.
