Ministerial reshuffle in Kuwait following Eid al-Adha
Kuwait, Politics, 3/13/2000

Kuwaiti parliamentary sources stated that the long-waited plenary ministerial reshuffle might tale place after Eid al-Adha and will cover 4 to 6 ministries.

The sources added that this reshuffle will not target the permanent ministries which are kept by members of the ruling family, in contradiction to the attempts made by the Liberal team inside the nation's council (parliament).

However, this liberal team was very active during the two past weeks to make the use of item 102 of the Kuwaiti constitution, an acceptable step by the Kuwaiti public.

This item is connected to the right of the nation's council to announce its non- cooperation with the prime minister, a matter which will provoke the Eemir of Kuwait to replace with another member from the family the current premier, Sheikh Saad Al -Abdullah al-Sabah, and to dissolve the nation's council.
