British minister to visit the Middle East

It was announced in London on Friday that British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Peter Hain will visit Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel at the end of this month in order to strengthen the British role in the Middle East peace process.
A source at the British Foreign Office said the British role will be complementary to the US role in the Middle East peace process and not a substitute for it.
