Four Kuwaiti Islamic movements demand formation of new government
Kuwait, Politics, 3/10/2000
Four Kuwaiti Islamic political movements urged the discharge of the current government and formation of a new government of parliamentary majority.
The statement issued by the Islamic Constitutional Movement, the Moslem Brothers, the Public Islamic Assembly, and the Public National Islamic Alliance reflects the current political readiness in Kuwait for forming a new government after the vacation of the greater Bairam.
It stressed the importance of maintaining the unity of the ruling bodies, especially inside the royal family, and that a crisis of the executive authority is related to a clear absence criteria upon which the ministers are chosen which has led to marginalizing the political role of the Cabinet and moving its basic missions to the prime minister's palace.
