Syrians of the Golan celebrate the March revolution anniversary
Syria-Israel, Politics, 3/10/2000

The Syrian village of Baqatha in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights witnessed a massive demonstration of hundreds of the citizens of the occupied Golan on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the March 8 revolution.

The demonstrators chanted slogans asserting their commitment to their homeland, Syria, under the leadership of President Hafez al-Assad.

At the end of the demonstration, the demonstrators laid a wreath on the tomb of martyr Ghalia Farhat, the woman from the Golan who was killed by the Israeli occupation during the celebration of the March revolution 8 in 1987.

Just two days earlier, the Israeli occupation authorities closed the "youths sports club" in the village of Baqatha for organizing a seminar on the March 8 revolution anniversary and the achievements of the revolution on all levels.
