Bin Ali: Democracy is incomplete without the woman
Tunisia, Politics, 3/10/2000

Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Bin Ali has renewed his assertion that the democratic process is not complete without women, which he considered a "basic supporter in achieving his programs for the coming years." In a speech he delivered on the occasion of inaugurating the works of the 11th conference of the national Union of the Tunisian Women that he is "confident" that the presence of 800 women consultants in the new municipal councils will pave the way for the women to prove themselves and their capability in perpetuating democratic culture and effective contribution in achieving local development and improving standards of living in the country.
