First mediterranean industrial meeting in casablanca

Morocco's energy and mining ministry and the European Commission are sponsoring this March 27-28 the first Mediterranean industrial meeting "Med Energia 2000."
The meeting, meant to develop cooperation and partnership in energy-related industry, trade, technology and finance between Europe and the Mediterranean region, features workshops on the sector of energy in Morocco and investment conditions and visits to energy enterprises and sites.
A Moroccan official told MAP that the encounter will focus on means to enhance the efficiency of energy use in industry, re-use of industrial waste, the use of gas and new and renewable energies, electric power plants and know-how in the use of solar, thermic and agriculture waste-generated energy.
Six countries from the European Union and five east Mediterranean countries will be taking part.
