Belgian-luxemburgian committee to back Morocco's world cup bid
Morocco-Belarus, Sports, 3/9/2000
A Belgian-Luxemburgian committee was set up recently in Brussels to back Morocco's bid to host the 2006 World Cup. The committee said it will convince Belgian political officials to back the North African Nation's bid. It will hold sports events and participate in tourism fairs to publicize Morocco's potentials to host the planetary competition.
The committee will also campaign for Morocco's bid during the European Nations Cup (EURO-2000), to be co-hosted by Belgium and Holland next Summer.
Morocco is competing with South Africa, Brazil, England and Germany to host the World Cup. FIFA will select the host country next July.
