Businessmen call for creation of egyptian-moroccan-tunisian free trade are
North Africa-Morocco, Economics, 3/9/2000

The Moroccan-Egyptian business council has called for the inception of a tripartite free exchange area between Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Such an area will be more efficient that the free trade accords concluded between the three nations at the bilateral level, Morocco's representative at the council, Abderrafii Manjour and Egyptian peer Yamani Foulfoula said.

The zone will contribute to boosting trade exchanges and paving the way for a genuine partnership in North Africa, a release by the council said.

The council issued the statement on the fringes of a meeting last week of the Moroccan-Egyptian political follow-up and coordination committee.

The committee prepared for the meeting of the bilateral high joint commission, to be held next May in Cairo under the co-chairmanship of King Mohammed VI and President Husni Mubarak of Egypt.
