New premier appointed in Syria

President Hafez al-Assad on Tuesday accepted the resignation of the Syrian government of Mahmoud al-Zou'bi.

President al-Assad also appointed Muhammad Mustafa Miro to form the new Syrian Cabinet, and President al-Assad also asked the present Cabinet to continue carrying out their activities until the new Cabinet is formed.

The new Syrian Premier Miro was born in the Damascus countryside province of al-Tel in 1941. He is married with five children. (His survives his wife that passed away due a car accident more than five years ago.)

He has been since 1980 serving as a governor for Daraa, Hassaka and Aleppo provinces.

Miro, who has been the governor of Aleppo since December 1993, was a number of the executive bureau of the Arab Teachers Union and the assistant secretary general of the Arab Teachers Union in charge of cultural affairs, publication and information.
