Vedrine confirms France's firm attitude to al-Hoss

Lebanese Premier Salim al-Hoss on Monday received a telephone call from French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine in which the latter stressed France's unwavering stand concerning Lebanon.
In this conversation, the French FM said that that he has conveyed the conviction of both President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin which means that there is "just one French stand towards Lebanon which is and will not be changed."
The French foreign minister also talked with al-Hoss about the April Understanding and expressed his hope that the April Understanding Committee will hold its meeting very soon.
