Mubarak confers with Arafat at Sharm El-Sheikh

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh received Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. The two sides discussed developments on the Palestinian track in light of Israeli's non-commitment to implementing agreements signed with the Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Arafat described the talks he held earlier in the day with President Mubarak as positive and constructive and said they discussed the peace process despite and the difficulties placed by Israel before these negotiations.
Arafat told journalists upon his return to Gaza following a visit to Cairo which lasted for several hours, "There are Egyptian, Jordanian, US and European efforts to push forward the peace process and to protect it."
