Tunisian to upgrade relations with Algeria
Tunisia-Algeria, Politics, 3/6/2000
Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali sent a message to Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Tunisian Foreign Minister Habib Benyahia, who will convey the message to Bouteflika, told the press upon arrival Sunday in Algiers that his visit is part of continuous consultation and coordination between the two heads of state on regional and international questions of common interest.
He added that his visit is an opportunity to confirm Tunisia's will to upgrade relations with Algeria.
Algeria and Tunisia are members of the Arab Maghreb Union, which also musters Morocco, Libya and Mauritania.
