Former football star, Dolmy, made ambassador for Morocco's 2006 bid

Former star of the Moroccan football, Abdelmajid Dolmy, was made ambassador of Morocco's bid to host the 2006 World Cup.

Dolmy, who was one of the pillars of the Moroccan national soccer team in the 1970's and 1980's, was extended over the weekend the prize of "Champion in Memory" by the Moroccan large circulation sports weekly Al-Mountakhab.

Dolmy is laureate of the UNESCO fair play prize. Throughout his long career, Dolmy, was never booked.

Morocco has made several national and football stars ambassadors to defend its candidacy to host the 2006 World Cup.

Morocco is campaigning against South Africa, Brazil, England and Germany to host the planetary event. The host country will be selected next July by the FIFA governing board.
