Arab League voices backing for Syria
Regional-Syria, Politics, 3/6/2000

The Arab League has asserted support for Syria's principled stances providing for Israel's full withdrawal from the occupied Golan Heights to the June 4, 1967 border lines.

In statements he made in Cairo on Sunday, AL chief Esmat Abdul Aziz called for ensuring large-scale Arab backing for the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks until achieving a complete Israeli pullout from the occupied Golan to the June 4, 1967 lines.

He said the council of Arab foreign ministers which will start work in Beirut on March 11 and 12 will discuss the dangers of continued Israeli aggressions against Lebanon and support for the Lebanese resistance against the Israeli aggression, assert the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks and the importance of reviving the Middle East peace process on the Syrian track on the ground of Israel's adherence to withdrawal from the Golan until June 4 border lines.
