Great improvement in Iranian- Egyptian relations
Egypt-Iran, Politics, 3/6/2000

Egypt has asserted the importance of bolstering and strengthening Egyptian- Iranian relations in the economic and trade areas and benefiting from the two countries' membership in the Organization of the Islamic Conference to reactivate economic relations among the countries of the region.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Egyptian general commission for investment said that there is a great improvement in the relations between the two countries, a matter which was positively reflected by their bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The statement indicated the possibility that Iran will be the starting point for the Egyptian exports to the markets of central and East Europe and the countries of the Islamic republics, while Egypt will become the starting point for the Iranian exports to the African states.

Iran is taking part in the 33rd Cairo International Fair.
