Ethiopia on Sunday denied accusations addressed by Eritrea against it, in that it had refused plans to end the border conflict between the two countries.
A statement by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ethiopia is committed to a constructive dialogue with the Organization of African Unity and its partners in the peace process. The statement stressed that some progress was attained during the talks held by the government of Ethiopia with the representatives of the Organization of African Unity.
The statement denied the accusations addressed by the government of Eritrea against Ethiopia in refusing the peace plan, stressing that some progress was attained in this regard, in particular during the talks Ethiopia recently held with the envoy of the African unity organization and with the special envoy of the US president.
Meanwhile, diplomatic sources in Addis Ababa said that the envoys of the OAU and the US president are trying to reach a technical arrangement settlement in order to achieve a peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
