Sheikh Yassin denies links to al-Tibeh incidents
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/6/2000

The founder of the Palestinian national movement (Hamas), Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, has denied any link between his government and the group of Palestinian citizens who were killed by the Israeli occupation authorities in al-Tibeh city last Thursday.

In a statement to the Israeli Radio on Sunday, Yassin stressed that the military wing of the Hamas movement works independently away from the military leadership of the movement. He, at the same time, stressed that his movement will continue its operations against the Israeli occupation in the occupied Arab territories.

Sheikh Yassin made his statements commenting on accusations addressed by a Palestinian military source to the Hamas movement on Sunday in that the al-Tibeh group received their orders from one of Sheikh Yassin's guards.
