Russian foreign minister arrives today at Cairo

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is arriving today in Cairo on a three-day visit to Egypt during which he will deliver Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Hamdi Fath Allah, the Egyptian assistant foreign minister for European affairs, said the visit acquires a special importance from coming at this time when the peace process is passing through a crisis in the Middle East and because of the role played by Russia as one of the peace process sponsors which succeeded in containing the facilitation committee for the multilateral negotiations.
