US ambassador denies US protest of Mubarak visit to Lebanon

The US ambassador in Cairo, Daniel Kurtzer, stressed his country's commitment to giving the Middle East peace process a push forward in order to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
In statements he made in Cairo on Friday, the US ambassador denied that his country had opposed the visit of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to Lebanon. He stressed that Egypt and the US are working to eliminate obstacles impeding the peace process.
