Morocco takes part in preparatory meeting of Euro-African summit

Morocco is taking part for the first time in the preparatory meeting of the Euro-African summit.
The Moroccan delegation to the meeting includes Ambassador to Vienna, Abderrahim Benmoussa, and director of European affairs at the foreign department, ambassador Said Berriane.
The meeting is also attended by delegates of the European Union, Algeria, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Togo, Tunisia and Egypt, the summit host country.
Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa, announced Thursday that King Mohammed VI will take part in the summit scheduled to be held in Cairo next April 3-4.
The Euro-African summit, the first of the kind between the two sides, will be attended by some 67 heads of state and government from Africa and the European Union. Debt and economic cooperation would be key topics at the summit to elaborate a strategic partnership.
