Head of FIS executive organization waiting for resolution concerning his return to Algeria
Algeria, Politics, 3/1/2000
Algerian diplomatic sources said that Rabeh Kabeer, head of the executive organization of the prohibited Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) said that he is waiting for "the green light" from Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to return home.
Kabeer, who currently lives in Germany, denounced the most recent aggressions and attacks of the Armed Islamic Group, which refuses the civil rapport law, depicting them as "criminal works," and saying this group's end is coming very soon.
Kabeer said the return of the FIS to the political arena is not confirmed, expressing his desire for the release of the front's two leaders, Abbas Madani who is under house arrest and Ali Belhaj who is in prison.
