Jordan emphasizes the importance of investment in software
Jordan, Business, 3/1/2000
King Abdullah II of Jordan asserted his intent to provide all the necessary means for investments in software and the computer sector, following his meeting with Michael Lacombe, deputy chairman of the Microsoft company for the Middle East, Europe and Africa, who is visiting Jordan as Bill Gates' delegate according to Gates' promise to the Jordanian monarch at the Davos meeting last month.
Lacombe hailed the investment atmosphere in Jordan in light of ratifying a set of laws that attract investments, such as a law for protecting intellectual ownership which paved the way for Jordan's membership in the World Trade Organization.
