Al-Shara concludes fruitful visit to Saudi Arabia

Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on Monday morning in Riyadh discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Saud al-Faisal, the latest developments in the region and the Arab joint support for Lebanon during the deliberations of the Arab League council scheduled to be held in Beirut next month.

Talks also dealt with the stalemate of the peace process and relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia.

Later in the day al-Shara returned to Damascus following a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia during which he handed over two messages from President al-Assad to Saudi Arabia's King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah.

On Monday afternoon, al-Shara held a telephone conversation with Lebanese Premier and Foreign Minister Salim al-Hoss, during which the two sides made consultations and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East.

Al-Shara briefed Premier al-Hoss on the positive results of his visit to Saudi Arabia.
