US allowing more leeway to Libya

The United States is not opposing increased Libyan activity in the United Nations and allowed Libya's UN ambassador to visit Washington for a UN-sponsored conference, Washington Post reported, quoting an anonymous State Department official as saying that Libya has distanced itself from terrorism but that the question of compensating the families of victims of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing "looms large."
