Arab League chief confers with PLO official
Palestine-Regional, Politics, 2/28/2000

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid on Sunday in Cairo discussed with the chairman of the PLO Political Bureau, Farouk Qaddoumi, the latest developments on the Palestinian track in light of the stalemate on this track.

In statements to reporters following his meeting with the AL chief, Qaddoumi said he discussed with Abdul Meguid issues to be debated in the 113th session of the Arab League council on the level of foreign ministers due to be held in Beirut on March 11 and 12. He stressed that the meeting will be an Arab demonstration of solidarity with Lebanon in confrontation of the Israeli aggressions against its territories.

Qaddoumi added that the aim of this initiative is to send a message to the whole world that the Arab states stand with Lebanon and its national resistance against the Israeli occupation until all occupied Arab lands are restored.
