Indian Hotel Chain to Invest in $100 Million in Morocco

The Indian hotel Chain Oberoi Hotels will carry out tourism projects worth $ 100 million in Morocco.
The project includes a 500-room luxury hotel in Casablanca, a tourism compound in Marrakesh with 250 rooms and a tourism compound in the southern city of Ouarzazate.
The group will also rehabilitate a casbah (castle) in Ouarzazate.
Once completed, the project will generate 880 jobs.
The related accord was signed here Thursday by the group's chairman and Moroccan minister of trade, industry and handicraft, in the presence of Moroccan premier, Abderrahmane youssoufi, who paid this February 21-24 an official visit to India.
The visit was crowned by the signing of a package of agreements in the sectors of maritime transport, mining and energy and audio-visual and information technologies. A Moroccan-Indian business council has also been set up during the visit.
