Lebanese premier gets message of support from French counterpart

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss on Wednesday received a message from French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin dealing with the current situation in Lebanon following the recent Israeli aggression.
The message was conveyed to al-Hoss by the French ambassador to Lebanon.
The French premier expressed France's worries about the escalation of violence in Lebanon, which caused great damage to the Lebanese people.
He indicated the French efforts aimed at resuming the meetings of the April Understanding monitoring committee.
Jospin said, "As it did before, France supports Lebanon, and it has determination to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region."
