US source denies Israel obtainment an advanced nuclear technology
Regional-Israel-USA, Politics, 2/23/2000

A US diplomatic source denied to ArabicNews.com reports which said that the USA will allow Israeli scientists freedom to research US nuclear technology, saying that there is no intention to present nuclear technology to the Israeli government because the US government objects to this on political and legal bases.

The US official also said, "The letter of intention that was singed with the Israeli atomic power committee is a non-obligatory agreement, and it is not an agreement between the two governments, and the USA is not required to do anything.

He added that the latter of intent that was signed in Israel yesterday has nothing to do with the non-proliferation treaty that if the treaty is signed by Israel it will be asked to put all its nuclear resources and reactors under international supervision.
