Agreement for Egyptian - US energy cooperation

A statement by the US embassy in Cairo said yesterday that the visit of US Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson to Egypt which starts today comes in the framework of following up an agreement for Egyptian - US cooperation in energy fields signed during the visit of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to the US in July 1999.
The statement added that Richardson and Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Ali El-Saeedi will sign during this one-day visit two additional appendants to the cooperation agreement on energy that allow exchanging information and visits between experts in the two countries, as well as training Egyptian engineers in many technical fields.
