Morocco-France, Economics, 2/23/2000

The Moroccan-French association circle and a portfolio managing firm are holding in Paris this Feb. 23-24 a colloquy to debate potentials of Morocco as a financial place for the future.

Chaired by Moroccan Finance and Economy Minister Fathallah Oualalou and the minister in charge of privatization and public enterprises, Rachid Filali, the conference will seek to highlight the promising investment advantages offered by the Moroccan market, consolidate economic ties between Morocco and France, develop financial partnership and increase the flow of investments between the two countries.

According to the organizers, the Moroccan finance and economy minister will tell participants about Morocco's endeavors to maintain major economic and political balances and the kingdom's status within the Maghreb. Filali will, on his part, expound the increase in the number of companies listed on the stock exchange and goals of the 2000 privatization operation.

Morocco's ambassador to France, Hassan Abouyoub, will speak about education and training aspects in Morocco.

Debates will cover the thriving Moroccan stock exchange, investment opportunities in Morocco and potentials of financial partnerships between Morocco and France.
