Egyptian ambassador commends Vatican's backing for Palestine's cause

The Egyptian ambassador to the Vatican, Hassan al-Sader, has praised the stand adopted by the Vatican in supporting the right of the Palestinian people to get back their lands and considering Jerusalem as a city occupied by Israel, like other Arab lands that were occupied in 1967.
In an interview with Sawt al-Arab radio on Tuesday, the Egyptian ambassador added that the forthcoming visit of Pope John Paul II to the holy shrines, the Palestinian territories and certain Arab states is very important, especially as this visit comes at a time when Israel is placing obstacles before the establishment of comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
