Israeli minister expects negotiations to resume soon with Syria
Regional-Israel, Politics, 2/23/2000
The Israeli radio on Tuesday quoted Israeli Minister of Education Yossi Sarid as saying that there are possibilities to resume negotiations between Syria and Israel if the Syrians and Israelis will take necessary difficult decisions.
In statements he made on Tuesday during a tour in Beer Sabaa city, Sarid called for not dealing with the Palestinian peace track as if it is a reserve track whenever negotiations stumble with Syria. He asserted that the Palestinian track is considered basic and it should not be marginalized.
