Lebanon-Kuwait, Politics, 2/22/2000

Lebanese official sources on Monday said that Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah will arrive today in Beirut on a one -day official visit to Lebanon.

The Kuwaiti FM will convey a message from the emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, to Lebanese President Emile Lahoud. The message deals with the bilateral relations and the Kuwaiti position concerning the Israeli strikes on the Lebanese power stations.

The Kuwaiti minister will also hold talks with Lebanese Premier and Foreign Minister Salim al-Hoss. The talks are expected to deal with Kuwait's participation in helping Lebanon rebuild its power stations destroyed by Israel.

It was also announced in Beirut on Monday that the chairman of the PLO political department, Farouk Qaddoumi, will arrive today in Beirut to discuss with al-Hoss talks relating to the Middle East peace process.
