Jordanian king condemns Israeli strikes against Lebanon
Jordan-Lebanon, Politics, 2/22/2000
King Abdullah II of Jordan has condemned the recent Israeli attacks against the Lebanese civilian installations, saying that these strikes are not justified.
In statements he made to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am published on Monday, the Jordanian king added that Jordan condemns the Israeli strikes against Lebanon. He said these Israeli attacks are in contradiction to all UN resolutions and international law, which bans striking of civilian targets.
He asserted that peace should be comprehensive, so as to be just and lasting.
He added that it is evident that peace talks between these two sides are difficult and tough, stressing that, "Brothers in Syria and Lebanon must regain their rights and occupied lands."
