US secretary of energy to visit Egypt tomorrow
Egypt-USA, Economics, 2/21/2000

US Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson is due to arrive tomorrow in Cairo for a several-day visit.

A statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that Richardson will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and other officials, as well as with Egyptian businessmen to support the Egyptian - US cooperation in the field of electric power, especially the new ways of generating electric power.

Two agreements will be signed during this visit. The first concerns making studies to establish a new farm for generating electricity by windpower with a capacity that reaches 10 megawatts, while the second aims at technical and economic cooperation to improve the efficiency of fuel use and operations.
